So I may have failed to mention in my post yesterday about the amazing architecture I noticed on the drive out to the breathtaking Ephesus?
WATER SLIDES!
Yeppers! After our enlightening and educational day yesterday we decided to postpone our travel to Pammukale one day to take in some pure goofy fun! And it was totally worth it!
Adaland, is a Turkish gem of the slightly insane side. It is a water park where most of the slides are actually for adults or older kids and I can tell you that even for an adreline junkie like myselfI terror wasn't uncommon:)
With slide names like the Kamikaze and The Roller Coaster you can imagine why!
It was a fantastic way to enjoy the heat ,get the heart pumping as well as walk away with a couple of souvenirs and by souvenirs I mean painful bruises!
I literally screamed the whole way down the Kamikaze and as fate would have it we chose it as our first slide.
Basically your a rocket in a rocket launcher and you are going so fast you can't even open your eyes because of the spray! Had some body aches afterwards but it didn't stop us from going again, the adrenaline rush was so intense! But our second time was our last as our bodies could not take it!
I'm pretty sure this slide would never be legal in Canada!
There were dark tunnel slides, slides that were like a big U - shape that just blasted you down and you just glided back and forth until you lost momentum and everything you can imagine in between!, Definitely a good last day in Kusadasi:)
We decided to combat out adrenaline crash with some fresh adriatic catch so went to Fisherman's Cafe which is virtually a cafe above the fish market where the fishermen hang out in the evening. I enjoyed fresh calamari with Turkish coffee (kahvesi) which I loved( Niki not so much!) it is basically ground coffee beans with hot water poured over top, pretty good actually and a real energy booster!
Anyway, off to bed, were catching the bus to Pammukale tomorrow bright and early to see some natural wonders! I'll check in tomorrow sometime, good night!
